Born and raised in Whittier, California, Melinda Hagman studied art at Fullerton College and has been painting most of her life minus the 8 years immediately after having children. Recently, she returned to painting with a challenge she called “The Flower Project,” where she painted one image a week for 52 weeks; bringing her back to painting full-time.

At the start of 2013, Melinda commenced the “Author Series,” where she garnered much attention for her ethereal images of famous writers. Around the same time she also completed a “Carnival Series,” that was featured in her first solo exhibition at the Egan Gallery in the Magoski Arts Colony in Fullerton, California.

Melinda is an avid bibliophile and collector of vintage books, which serves as artistic inspiration along with her deep love of music. Melinda lives in Orange County with her husband, Scott and their two children.
